My First AMA (6/11 - 6/13) & A Few Of My Favorite Substack & Youtube Channels
...for those of you on the grind.
We’re still at it! We’re still chipping away! And, we’re getting closer to the holy grail every day. Thanks to all of you on the journey with me. I’d like to hear from you!
My first AMA will be this week! Office hours will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 am EST on Tuesday (6/11), Wednesday (6/12) and Thursday (6/13). I welcome your questions, constructive criticism, suggestions and more. I will be available live (via chat or email (AutomatedTradingStrategies@protonmail.com) to discuss.
I could use your help in understanding what to include/change/discuss next. For example,
is there a particular strategy idea you liked that you want to see developed?
is there a particular system that you like more than others? why?
what are you looking forward to learning more about?
is there a portfolio in the forward test that you’re interested in knowing more about?
is there something I’m doing wrong and you have a suggestion about how to correct it?
is there a particular area that you’re having difficulty with or struggling with?
I don’t share all research because it’s too much to cover, so if you’re looking for something in particular, this is the best way to get it.
I look forward to your questions!
I’ve also had a few complaints lately that my strategies are either too complicated OR lack complexity. It is a balancing act, to be sure. What I’ve noticed is that simple tends to do better than complicated with automated strategies.
While I hope to attract folks at all stages of the hunt, my primary audience is the novice—in other words, other new and old traders that don’t know programming. To date, there are only two strategies that do not use Ninjatrader’s Strategy Builder. That is intentional. And, any platform that I decide to use/adopt going forward will also have tools that are specifically designed for the novice.
The good news is that there are many other publications on Substack. Some are specifically for programmers and developers. Some are for traders. Some are for futures traders, some are for coal traders and others are for options traders. There are also a few that cater to those of you interested in all things AI and I’m just scratching the surface. Here are few of my favorite Newsletters:
If I forgot to add your Newsletter here, please charge it to an absent mind and nothing more—you may still be on my list of recommended sites, which I’ve recently had updated.
There are also a few Youtube Channels that I subscribe to and watch on a regular basis.
They are:
Ross Cameron - Warrior Trading: https://www.youtube.com/@DaytradeWarrior
NinjaTrader - https://www.youtube.com/@NinjaTrader
Capstone Trading Systems - https://www.youtube.com/@CapstoneTradingSystems
There are others, but these are the only channels I watch with any regularity.
I hope this helps and I look forward to your questions this week!
